We know – there are a lot of PROs out there right now. Nearly everyone is working to position themselves as a thought leader; or the next creative breakthrough in x, y or z; or establish an authentic presence in a super-saturated market full of other people – “experts” – doing the same thing. How do you beat the tactical nightmare of trying to grow your audience by heaps, get away from the follower obsession and focus on finding and targeting the truly engaged, authentic and compelling people who need what you’ve got – all while standing out from the crowd of other PROs?
That’s where we come in.
Marketing and PR are not a popularity contest, nor should they be. The way we do it, it’s about gaining customers through building a reputation which can only be built through our blended PR method.
We hear the words “PR” and “marketing” get thrown around a lot online these days, and usually when people are saying them, they have little to no understanding of what they actually mean. Or, they only focus on one channel (like Instagram, Facebook Groups or podcasts) or approach marketing through one lens (like working with a marketing expert who graduated from YouTube University). Some businesses will teach you what worked for them. We teach you what works, period, based on customized strategies we’ve implemented across numerous industries for over a decade and counting.
We have more than 20 years of combined public relations, marketing, digital strategy and social media experience working with both national consumer brands and local businesses and individuals. We also have more than a decade of copywriting, design and content development experience. We’ve worked with some of the most well‐known marketing firms and advertising agencies like Weber Shandwick and Edelman on brands big and small all over the U.S., not to mention our work with national education, nonprofit and publishing companies. Plus, we’re from Baltimore, home of The Wire. We take what we do seriously and we get pissed off when business owners and entrepreneurs are treated as anything less than a priority. So online or off, our clients always come first.
We’ve been through it all, and for the first time ever, we’re sharing what we know through our proprietary online resources and coursework, as well as consulting for businesses looking for extra PR support.
We’re Jen and Bridget, two exceptional PR + marketing professionals who, after achieving extended marketing qualifications and education, went on to cut our PR teeth on big brands like Pandora Jewelry, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Benihana, and John Hopkins University.
Here’s a breakdown…
Jen is not only the soul behind The Press Market, she is the pen and quill, the brilliant mastermind, and the heart. Her passion for helping business owners and entrepreneurs get the word out about what they’re up to is trumped only by her marketing savvy. With an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and copywriting and branding training from one of the world’s largest international publishing companies, Jen’s ability to build brands and give their reputations a serious edge using both words and design is unparalleled. Given the expansion of both digital and traditional marketing opportunities, Jen specializes in developing a clear roadmap for clients that orchestrates all relevant media channels and tactics (i.e. websites, content, search and social advertising, SEO, media/blogger outreach, etc.) into one actionable plan. She’s launched new products for a $65+ million dollar company, written winning copy that’s increased conversion by more than 100 percent and helped clients break into new, game-changing media channels.
